How to Make Katapult Cold Brew at Home
No fancy gear required. A jar, a sieve and a little patience is all it takes to brew cold coffee — smooth, cafe-quality cold brewed coffee in your own kitchen.

The Method
- 1
Grind coarse
Use Katapult at a coarse grind — think raw sugar, not powder. A coarse grind keeps the brew clean and easy to strain.
- 2
Measure 1:8
Combine one part coffee to eight parts cold, filtered water. For example, 125g of coffee to 1 litre of water.
- 3
Steep 14–16 hours
Stir once to wet all the grounds, cover, and leave in the fridge or on the bench for 14 to 16 hours. Cold brewing coffee is slow, but that is what makes it smooth.
- 4
Strain
Strain through a fine sieve, then again through a paper filter or clean cloth for a silky, grit-free brew.
- 5
Serve & store
Serve over plenty of ice, black or with milk. Store the concentrate in the fridge and enjoy within a week.
Tips For A Better Brew
- Dilute concentrate to taste — start with equal parts brew and water or milk.
- Filtered water makes a noticeable difference to the final cold brew coffee.
- Label your jar with the date so you always know how fresh it is.
- Save the leftover grounds for the garden — they make great compost.
